F22 Fine Arts Learning Community has ended
Dear Program Leads,
This is the starting template for the Fall 2022 MFA in Creative Writing and MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts Learning Community for Puget Sound, WA and Plainfield, VT. It is intended as a tool for scheduling and providing adequate support for:
  • shared synchronistic and asynchronistic sessions
  • optimal use of limited Zoom accounts and Hybrid Spaces
  • optimal use of physical spaces at the WA and VT sites
  • shared guest speakers to be confirmed at least weeks 6 weeks prior (June 3 for WA; June 17 for VT)
  • new and returning students to make informed decisions about whether to attend and how (6 weeks prior to start of the semester - June 3)
  • faculty to be confirmed and make travel plans at least 4 weeks prior (June 15)
  • staff scheduling to be be confirmed at least 4 weeks prior (June 15)

IMPORTANT: Please note that the times listed appear as Pacific, but they are actually local: July 10 to July 23rd (PST for Washington) and July 24 to August 5th (EST for Vermont). This makes sense in the schedule-building phase when lots of pieces are moving around and being duplicated. When you consider this SCHED final, I will add 3 hours to the Vermont part of the schedule so everything appears in the same time zone. Viewers will then be able to select their own time zone in SCHED to see the correct times throughout the schedule.

Early Decisions to Be Made:
  • First, please coordinate with each other and confirm times for Commencement (with stephen.pite@goddard.edu and academicservices@goddard.edu).
  • Contact Admissions to confirm the time of your Prospective Student Visiting Day.
  • Line up guest presenters and their presentation dates/times. Admissions needs to spread the word to prospective students ASAP. Contact Jackie at academicservices@goddard.edu to coordinate getting contracts and W-9s out to speakers and returned to Accounts Payable to assure payment.
  • Decide on which guest presentations and academic offerings will be shared between with the other program(s) in your learning community. Guest presenters and times should be confirmed by June 3rd (no later than June 17 for VT).
  • To flesh out this schedule with program-specific information, Program Leads may refer to the Preliminary F22 SCHED that was made for them by applying F22 dates to sessions held in S22. Those templates are:
